edelkrone SDK License Agreement

Version 2.0 (draft). Effective on the date it is published with the SDK.

This agreement is between you and edelkrone USA Inc. ("edelkrone", "we"). It covers the edelkrone Software Development Kit: the edelkrone Python package, its documentation and examples, and the developer resources we provide through the edelkrone MCP server at connect.edelkrone.com (together, the "SDK"). By installing, accessing or using the SDK, you agree to this agreement. If you use the SDK on behalf of a company, you agree on behalf of that company.

The short version

This summary is here to help you read the agreement. The sections below are the agreement.

1. Definitions

2. Your license

edelkrone grants you a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to:

The license continues for as long as you follow this agreement.

3. edelkrone Devices only

The SDK, and everything you learn from it about how edelkrone Devices communicate, may be used only to work with genuine edelkrone Devices. You may not use the SDK, or any part of it, to control, support or communicate with hardware that is not made by edelkrone, or to design, build or support hardware that imitates or replaces edelkrone Devices.

4. Your Applications

edelkrone claims no ownership of your Applications. You decide how to license, price and distribute them, and you are responsible for them, including their support and any promises you make to their users.

People who obtain your Applications may use them under the terms you give them. They do not need their own SDK license to use an Application with their edelkrone Devices.

5. Use of the edelkrone name

You may say that your Application works with edelkrone Devices. You may not use edelkrone logos, or present your Application as an official edelkrone product or as endorsed by edelkrone, without our written permission.

6. Restrictions

You may not:

7. Safety

edelkrone Devices are motorized equipment. You are responsible for the safe design and operation of your Applications. Follow the safety guidance in the SDK documentation. In particular, your Applications should let the user stop motion at any time, should stop the device before disconnecting, and should not run motion unattended without the user knowing. Make sure the motion path is clear of people and objects before you move a device.

8. Support

edelkrone supports the SDK through its documentation and the edelkrone MCP server. edelkrone's customer support for products does not cover software development questions or third-party Applications.

9. The Store and the FDK

9.1 Store. The Store is optional and free. It presents your Application to edelkrone customers and links to the place where you offer it, such as your website, the App Store or Google Play. edelkrone does not sell, host or deliver Applications and takes no commission. The rules are set out in the edelkrone Software Store Listing Agreement.

9.2 FDK. The FDK is not part of the SDK. It is free, and access is given under the separate edelkrone FDK License and Confidentiality Agreement, which you accept before your first access.

10. Ownership and feedback

The SDK is owned by edelkrone and is licensed to you, not sold. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11. Updates and termination

edelkrone may update the SDK and this agreement. A new version of this agreement applies to SDK versions released after it is published; using those versions means you accept it.

If you breach this agreement and do not fix the breach within 30 days after we notify you, edelkrone may terminate your license. After termination you must stop using and distributing the SDK. Users who already obtained your Applications may keep using them.

12. No warranty

The SDK is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. edelkrone does not guarantee that the SDK is error-free or that it will work with every device, firmware version or computer.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, edelkrone is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or business, arising from the SDK or this agreement. edelkrone's total liability under this agreement is limited to 100 USD.

14. General

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. If a provision of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. This agreement and, where they apply, the Store Listing Agreement and the FDK License and Confidentiality Agreement are the complete agreement between you and edelkrone about the SDK. Questions about this agreement can be sent to edelkrone through edelkrone.com.
